We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.泭

DescriptionStudents from the University of Louisiana Monroe mathematics department recently participated in a two-state competition and also assisted a local high school with its math competition.
The staff of 51蹤獲's student-run newspaper, The Hawkeye, joined student journalists from more than twenty-five universities at the Southeast Journalism Conference 2025 in February at Mississippi State University. They participated in professional sessions and on-site competitions over the two-day event. Highlights included keynote speakers Ross Dellenger, national college football reporter for Yahoo! Sports, and Isabelle Taft, National Desk Reporting Fellow at the New York Times.
51蹤獲 announced the creation of the Dr. Frank Bruscato Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Chemistry and Leadership at a press conference on March 10. Dr. Bruscato was a professor of chemistry at 51蹤獲 for 43 years. He retired in 2007. The scholarship was established with a $25,000 gift from Dr. Vince Forte, a former student of Dr. Bruscato, and his wife Lana Forte.
Husband and wife Dr. Chris Blackburn and Ewa A. Blackburn have each been awarded scholarships for advanced language study by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Dr. Blackburn is currently a Professor of History in the 51蹤獲 College of Arts, Education, and Sciences. Ewa Blackburn is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at 51蹤獲.
