Explore what the College of Pharmacy has to offer!

The Pharmacy program at 51ÂÜÀò is Louisiana’s only publicly supported comprehensive center for pharmaceutical education, research, and service. The Toxicology program at 51ÂÜÀò was the first of its kind in the South and is currently one of only six nationally. In addition to our standard PharmD degree, our Pharmacy program also offers three combination degree alternatives. The Graduate program at 51ÂÜÀò College of Pharmacy offers two PhD degree options.

The education offered at 51ÂÜÀò equips our students with the tools necessary to be prepared for and be successful in the constantly changing field of health care. Graduates of our pharmacy program work across the nation in community and health-system pharmacies, clinical practices, managed care groups, academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and a wide variety of other settings.

Students enrolled in the programs offered by the College of Pharmacy at 51ÂÜÀò receive a challenging and forward-thinking education that combines classroom learning, practical application, and experiential training in our state-of-the-art facility located in Monroe, Louisiana. Recent College News

51ÂÜÀò Toxicology faculty awarded EPA grant to monitor water quality

The 51ÂÜÀò Toxicology faculty have been awarded a grant in the amount of $134,299 to conduct water quality monitoring in the Upper Bayou Lafourche watershed. The funding source is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with a sub-grant agreement with the Gulf of America Alliance and the Morehouse Soil & Water Conservation District. This project will determine current water quality conditions in the Bayou Lafourche watershed and indicate potential changes in water quality, i.e., nutrient reduction, due to Best Management Practices (BMPs) implemented by area farmers and landowners. 51ÂÜÀò Toxicology will sample monthly for three years after BMP implementation has concluded.

51ÂÜÀò College of Pharmacy receives grant from Living Well Foundation

51ÂÜÀò College of Pharmacy has been awarded a grant in the amount of $10,436 from the Living Well Foundation to support the Rural Health Stroke Education Project. The grant was recognized at a ceremony at the College of Pharmacy on September 17, 2025. The initiative focuses on education and technology to help frontline providers deliver lifesaving treatment faster and more safely.
